Our Approach
Our Coverage
From our London headquarters we coordinate transactions across Western Europe and international capital markets. Our Nairobi office gives us direct presence in East and Southern Africa, one of the most dynamic regions for infrastructure and agribusiness investment in the world. Our Dubai office serves clients across the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Middle East, and North and West Africa, with access to the deep pools of private capital that characterise the Gulf markets.
Our Commitment
Building Local Presence
We believe that meaningful local presence is essential to doing this work well. Being physically located in the markets we serve allows us to build direct relationships with the regulators, development finance institutions, government agencies, and commercial banks that make transactions possible. Our offices are staffed by professionals with deep local market knowledge and language skills, and we continue to expand our geographic footprint in markets where we see growing transaction opportunity.
FAQ
Common Questions
Can I meet with the Polinvest team in person?
Yes. We welcome in-person meetings at all of our office locations. Please contact the office nearest to you to schedule an appointment. We also conduct frequent field visits to client markets outside our office locations.
Does Polinvest have correspondent offices beyond its three current locations?
In addition to our full offices, we maintain correspondent relationships with specialist advisers in a number of other markets, including West Africa, Southeast Asia, and Southern Europe. These relationships allow us to originate and assess transactions in markets where we do not yet have a physical office.
How do I reach the right office for my enquiry?
In general: project sponsors and borrowers in Africa should contact our Nairobi office; clients in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf should contact Dubai; and clients in Europe or seeking access to international capital markets should contact London. The contact page on our website provides direct contact details for each office.
Global Presence
Why Geography Matters in Capital Markets
The choice of where to maintain a physical presence is a strategic decision for a capital markets firm. We chose London as our headquarters because it remains the most connected international capital markets hub in the world, the place where a critical mass of institutional investors, development finance institutions, legal firms, and financial advisers are concentrated. London's time zone advantages for doing business with Africa, the Middle East, and Asia simultaneously are also a practical benefit that should not be underestimated for a firm whose transaction pipeline spans these regions.
Nairobi is our gateway to sub-Saharan Africa, the region we believe represents the largest long-term opportunity for infrastructure and investment finance. East Africa's combination of political stability, growing middle class, improving regulatory environments, and significant infrastructure deficit creates a compelling case for sustained capital deployment over the next decade. Our Nairobi team has deep relationships with the governments, development finance institutions, commercial banks, and project sponsors who are central to making transactions happen in this region.
Dubai connects us to the Gulf's deep pools of private capital, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and private banks that are increasingly seeking investment opportunities in Africa and Asia alongside their traditional real estate and public equity holdings. Our Dubai presence also gives us direct access to the MENA region's own infrastructure and investment market, where public-private partnerships, energy transition investments, and economic diversification mandates are creating significant new financing requirements. The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) provides an internationally-recognised regulatory framework that facilitates cross-border capital flows across our network.
Office Culture
What Our Offices Are Like to Work In
Our offices are designed to reflect the character of the firm: serious about the work, open to ideas, and genuinely collaborative. We do not have large corner offices reserved for senior partners or elaborate entertainment facilities. Our spaces are functional, well-resourced, and conducive to the kind of focused, detailed analytical work that our transactions require. We also invest in spaces and moments for team interaction, informal discussion is how ideas get tested and refined at Polinvest, and we create opportunities for this kind of exchange without engineering it artificially.
Remote and hybrid working is supported for roles where it is consistent with the work requirements. Transaction-critical work, client meetings, investment committee presentations, due diligence calls, is conducted in person or by video conference with full team participation. Background analytical and research work can often be done effectively from home. We do not mandate rigid office attendance policies but we do expect team members to be present when their colleagues and clients need them to be, and we hold ourselves to the same standard of availability we expect from our clients.
Our London office is located in the heart of the City of London financial district, close to the major international banks, law firms, development finance institutions, and professional services firms with whom we work regularly. Proximity to these counterparties, the ability to walk to a meeting rather than spend an hour in transit, is a genuine operational advantage in a business where in-person relationship-building is important. Our Nairobi and Dubai offices are similarly located in the financial districts of their respective cities, enabling efficient access to local counterparties.
